FLICKR PHOTOBOX

My Flickr of the future.

This is my vision for a re-imagined Flickr. In the PhotoBox's home setting, all Flickr photos would appear in a random order over several layers like the one shown above. As you scroll, up or down, the screen view would pass through the visible layer of photos to the next layer and the next and so forth, creating an endless universe of photo collage layers. If you click on a photo it will take you to a group of layers dedicated to photos uploaded by that user. If you enter a search, then it will take you to a group of layers dedicated to that topic by all users.

It also discretely and cleanly utilizes space for the Flickr logo/home link, as well as a search and info block and advertisement blocks.

When you find a photo that interests you, click on it and the photo will expand similar to the image above. Here, the photo will exhibit all of the applications that are already an institution within Flickr, like the comments section and the ratings, as well as info on the photo.

I also imagine an orbit button that would allow for the viewer to see the images at various angles. This is to accommodate the future use of 3D images and models that could be placed within the PhotoBox grid, such as those created on Google SketchUp.

NEW EARTH FARM

Monday, March 5, 2012

This is a small education center for New Earth Farm in eastern Virginia. The structure includes a small shed, a greenhouse, an open classroom, an integrated pergola, and a rooftop garden. The purpose of this building is to inform the public on both organic and sustainable methods of agriculture. This project was done In conjunction with Work Program Architects of Norfolk, VA. They created these beautiful renders from my SketchUp design file. Construction is set to begin very soon.
