TRANSCENDENTAL MEDIA

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Several different drawings of Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. I used markers, color pencils, and ink pens on vellum paper. The techniques are stipple, high-contrast, scribble, and hatching. Obviously, the reference image is the same for all of the drawings, the only difference being the media or the technique used.

MONOCHROMATIC THESIS GRAPHICS

These are actually pictures of the graphics that I made for the thesis taken directly from the book by camera rather than from file. I think it adds a certain character to the photos that makes them more playful and textural. I especially like the curvature achieved by the crease between the pages and the perspective of the skew from the angle of the camera. My favorite image is the third one down with the red man running up the stairs, apart, of course, from the two above.
